The company's availability around the clock positions it as an option for property managers, homeowners, and business operators who need scheduling flexibility or have urgent air quality concerns. In a climate where cooling systems rarely get a break, timely duct maintenance can help sustain system performance and extend equipment life.

Lucas Technical Air responded quickly when the A/C in one of my rental units went out during a hot South Florida weekend. They showed up on time, diagnosed the issue Saturday night, and had everything fixed by Sunday, keeping my tenants comfortable. Their pricing was fair, they were easy to work with, and they provided all the documentation I needed. I highly recommend them if you're looking for reliable, responsive, and reasonably priced A/C service.

I am so pleased to have found Lucas A/C. I find he is so honest in his dealings and telling you the truth of what needs to be done. Doesn’t try to make something worse than it is. He is reliable and works longs hours to take care of his customers. He is my go to person from now on.
This afternoon my A/C wasn’t working, I called and a service person was at my house within the hour I needed a part, he left and return within the hour to replace it and I was up and running. Service was amazing and I highly recommend them.

Most critical

In February, my A/C drain line clogged, causing water to back up into my downstairs condo. I called this company to clear the clog, but what should have been a simple repair turned into months of frustration.

During the first visit, they claimed my outdoor unit wasn't working, even though it had been working that morning. He insisted on replacing the motor because it was under warranty, and I trusted his recommendation since I'd used this company before.

The very next day, the drain backed up again. The clog was ultimately resolved, but after the motor replacement, my outdoor unit became extremely loud, shaking and rumbling outside my bedroom window. The owner and his crew came out multiple times but were never able to fix the problem. I was repeatedly told, "At least you're cooling."

In early June, the owner told me replacement parts had been ordered and that I was on the schedule for repairs. He never showed up, never called, always had an excuse to why he never showed and then stopped responding to my messages altogether leaving them on read!!

I eventually had to hire another A/C company to repair the issues this company created. I was also warned that the excessive vibration could damage the coils and lead to much more expensive repairs. What started as a simple drain line clog ended up costing me far more time, money, and stress than it should have. I cannot recommend this company.

We were referred to Lucas Technical Air by a friend and, initially, our experience was very positive. Lucas and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions and explain the work they were doing.

Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended.

Our home was newly built in 2019, but we later discovered our HVAC system had been installed incorrectly by the builder. The ductwork wasn't properly sealed, allowing water to leak for years without our knowledge. The moisture led to extensive mold growth, which we ultimately discovered after it began affecting the health of our baby.

We hired Lucas Technical Air to address the issue. They told us they cleaned the air handler, removed the mold, replaced our plenum boxes, and replaced our ductwork because it was holding pounds of water. We paid over $12,000 for this work and were assured the mold issue would be resolved.

About a month later, we had our home professionally retested, and the mold was still present.

When I contacted Lucas, he immediately became defensive and insisted there was no way the problem could be related to their work. However, our mold remediation specialist could visibly see mold remaining on components of the HVAC system and requested that Lucas's team return to remove the filters so they could be properly cleaned. After a lot of back and forth, they eventually agreed.

We tested again after that work was completed, and the mold was still there.

Our mold specialist believed the HVAC system was still the source of the contamination and suspected something had not been installed correctly. When Lucas sent another employee to inspect the system, the technician spent less than 30 seconds in the attic before coming back down and saying, "I'm confident my guys did the job right," and claimed our mold specialist was simply "trying to get one over on us."

Ironically, our mold specialist wasn't charging us for any of his follow-up visits after the initial remediation. He was simply trying to help us determine why our home continued testing positive for mold and why our son continued experiencing health issues.

After that, Lucas stopped responding to my calls and texts. He also stopped communicating with our mold specialist.

With no other option, we hired a different HVAC company. They discovered that Lucas Technical Air had not properly installed the flex ducts, and the new plenum boxes they installed were undersized. As a result, the system was still leaking, allowing moisture to continue entering the ductwork, which explained why we continued testing positive for mold. We had to spend thousands more dollars to correct the problems that should have been fixed the first time.

I repeatedly reached out to Lucas by phone, text, and email over the next six months, asking him to reimburse us for the repairs we had to pay another company to complete. To this day, he has never responded or made any effort to resolve the situation.

To make matters worse, I had referred Lucas Technical Air to other homeowners dealing with similar issues, and they later experienced similar problems with incomplete or improper work that required another HVAC company to correct.

What is most disappointing isn't just the money we lost, it's how this situation was handled. We hired Lucas Technical Air because we wanted to eliminate the mold so our baby could recover. Instead, the process took months longer than it should have, exposed our family to mold far longer than necessary, created an incredible amount of stress, and ultimately cost us thousands of additional dollars because the job wasn't completed correctly.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Lucas Technical Air. If you're hiring a company for mold-related HVAC work, I would strongly encourage you to get a second opinion and thoroughly verify that the work has been completed correctly.

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about my experience with Lucas Air.
I noticed an A/C issue on a Sunday morning and called Lucas Air for emergency service. I was aware of the callout fee and happy to pay it. The technician arrived promptly and diagnosed a Freon leak based on low pressure and the system being half full, fair enough so far.
I chose one of the recommended options: a leak stop with UV dye to locate the leak, plus a system refill. Total cost was $1,300, discounted to $1,000 for cash. However, I watched the technician fill the system with Freon without visibly adding any leak stop. When I questioned this, he claimed it was already mixed into the Freon. He declared the pressure was holding and the job was done, and mentioned they’d return in 30 days for a courtesy check.
The A/C worked that night. I left for a six-day trip the next day and monitored the system remotely, it ran less than three hours total before failing completely. That’s not a small leak.
When Lucas Air returned, the technician struggled to locate the leak that the UV dye should have clearly marked. He also bent and damaged the outer cage rather than properly disassembling the unit, something he had avoided doing the first visit. He identified the need for a new coil, which I declined given my experience. Before leaving, he attempted to charge me another service call fee, claiming it was a “new diagnosis.” It was the same issue he failed to properly investigate the first time.
A second A/C company later confirmed that no leak stop had been injected and no UV dye was present at the leak point, exactly what I had suspected.
I paid $1,000 for a repair that was never completed as described. I’d strongly encourage others to look elsewhere.
