We recently purchased 24 – 25 Ton commercial HVAC units. 1 of our units have been down for over 8 months because we are unable to get a new smoke detector for the units. When asked about alternatives, we are informed that it will void the warranty. When I spoke to the technician, he stated he has been waiting on several of these units. Why would I purchase a unit to sit idle while you disregard me as a customer. I would highly recommend not using Carrier units as the company could care less once it's installed on your building.

My first Bryant heat pump system lasted 14 years and I replaced it with a similar 4 ton system in October 2024 for $9250. The dealer installed it very well but showed me a large defect in the coil fins on the interior which looked like a vertical tear spanning multiple tubes stripped of the aluminum sleeve and showing the underlying copper. Carrier investigated and provided a case # but ultimately would not offer any additional warranty or discount, only saying that it is "cosmetic". As a consumer I would at least expect to get a "scratch and dent" unit at a scratch and dent price but I paid full price and should not have to accept a dented unit. Carrier makes a good product but they are sloppy with distribution.
